I specialise in solving spatial issues. I instinctively ‘feel' a space which allows for a lateral approach to often challenging spaces – I am regularly told by clients that 'I just get it'. 

Known for my warm and inquisitive nature, I encourage relaxed working relationships with my clients. Many of my clients have engaged me regularly over time to help them achieve their vision and the full potential of their home to remain relevant for years to come.

I enjoy bringing an element of 'the unexpected' to my designed spaces, am passionate about selecting materials that work in harmony with the home and above all, my driver is redefining spaces that enhance the lifestyle my clients live. 

My inspiration comes from a love of travel, friends and family. Growing up in Dunedin,  New Zealand in a large family, life was very much about the surroundings and exploring the old and new, texture, nature, art and food, and creativity was always present. I now call Melbourne my home and have been fortunate enough to call my daily work my passion.

With each project, I have a consultative approach to design, sharing ideas and knowledge with my clients and the craftspeople I partner with – who share the same passion for the highest quality materials, precision builds and the beautiful aesthetic that is Susan Cleveland Design.
